Today I am starting a new series of posts about Shibuya that will span over the next few days and where I will be showing multiple aspects of this Tokyo district.
Photos have been taken with my Sony a7ii camera, so if you have the chance to see them on a computer screen, you'll enjoy them even more than on a smartphone.
We start today's tour at Shibuya train station, where there are some big ads that are seen by many people every day. On the top side there is an ad from SoftBank (mobile phone carrier) and the anime series Shadowverse, which is currently being broadcast on television. Below there are two Nintendo Switch ads.
Nintendo Switch is the best-selling game system in Japan. In fact, in 2020 87% of the consoles sold here in Japan were Nintendo Switch, with over 6 million units sold. It is no wonder that with such market share in Japan they may have ads in such a prominent place. The sales of Nintendo Switch worldwide already reached 80 million units.
